Cockroaches

Cockroaches

Regarded by many as the most unsightly and vile of vectors, they are also the hardiest creatures on this planet with its species dating back to prehistoric times. They harbour and spread diseases and bacteria such as Cholera, Gastroenteritis (Food poisoning and Diarrhoea), Salmonellosis, Dysentery and Typhoid fever by contaminating food for human consumption.

The most commonly found in Singapore are American, German, Brown-banded, Oriental and Australian cockroaches. If there is infestation, you will notice chew marks in food packaging and musty or sour odour due to their secretions from mouth and glands. Areas like food establishments that provide water and food attract these pests.

Signs include the presence of:

  1. Egg Cases
  2. Nymphs or adults
  3. Faecal pellets
  4. Discarded cockroach skin
  5. Dead or alive cockroaches
  6. Musty or sour odour

In areas that include but are not limited to:

  1. Inside Cabinets
  2. Warm spots around stove, water dispensers, refrigerators
  3. Underneath sinks and at dark damp areas
  4. At or around gully openings
  5. Cracks and crevices
  6. Dark corners of dry food storage area
  7. Refuse chutes and bin centres
  8. Sewers and manhole

Our Solution

A thorough inspection will be carried out to find the source of infestation. Most common areas are pantries, under sinks, floor traps, toilets, drains, manholes and window edges. Our approach includes the use of residual spray and gel baiting.

Method How It Works
Residual spray This is an extremely effective treatment for most premises as it is not staining or harmful to humans and it is odourless. Spraying a non-toxic pesticide solution at targeted areas forms a chemical barrier that kills cockroaches upon contact. Carrying out this around cockroach harbourages provides fast knockdown effect and long-term cockroach control.
Gel Baiting Gel bait targets the biology and behaviour of cockroaches. Small gel dots are placed strategically in areas which are inaccessible to children and pets. Baits consumed by cockroaches that return to nest allows us to identify the source of infestation. It is normal to see dead cockroaches lying around which is a good indicator the gel is effective.
